Port St. Lucie Police are investigating six business burglaries at a plaza with an estimated loss of about $7,500, police stated June 8.
The incidents happened in the early morning hours of May 27 to businesses in the Shoppes at Torino Plaza in the 5300 block of Northwest East Torino Parkway, according to Lt. Joe Norkus, police spokesperson.
One of the businesses is a salon.
“Preliminary surveillance footage shows a suspect entering through the rear door around 3:00 a.m.,” Norkus stated. “Although there were no obvious signs of forced entry, approximately $200 was stolen from nail station drawers, confirming unauthorized access.”
Norkus said a total of six businesses were found to have been burglarized.
There were no signs of forced entry, he said.
“The Port St. Lucie Police Department urges all business owners to regularly review their security procedures and systems,” Norkus stated.
The burglar is described as a slender individual, possible a male, who wore all dark clothing with a covered head.
Those with information are asked to contact police at 772-871-5001 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-8477.
