A 76-year-old man accused of inappropriately touching a teen girl was arrested June 13 on two felony charges, according to an affidavit.
Reinaldo Sepulveda, of Port St. Lucie, was jailed on two felony sexual assault -related charges, the affidavit states.
Two teen girls, including the one who would make accusations against Sepulveda, reportedly had been missing and were found at a hotel in the Tradition community in Port St. Lucie.
One of the teens told Port St. Lucie Police that Sepulveda began acting “weird” after she turned 17 earlier this year.
She said he would send her inappropriate text messages, and disclosed a number of occasions during which she said he touched her inappropriately.
Told by police about the some of the inappropriate touching allegations, Sepulveda is quoted as saying, “Well, I’m not gonna deny that that may have happened… and it was a consensual thing,” an affidavit states.
“Reinaldo went on to acknowledge the sexual battery he committed multiple times during our conversation,” the affidavit states.
Sepulveda asked for a lawyer when police started speaking with him about the teen’s siblings.
He was held June 16 in the St. Lucie County Jail on $125,000 bond, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.
