St. Lucie County Fire District crews doused a home on fire and a vehicle caught in flames in separate areas of the county during a storm May 12.
No one was injured in either fire, district officials said in a news release on social media.
A home was reported to be “heavily involved in fire” at 3:42 p.m. at the corner of Camino Del Rio and El Portal Lane.
The family living in the home was not there, but two nearby homes had to be evacuated until the fire was extinguished about an hour later, according to the news release.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire isolated to the home and protect surrounding structures.
At 4:57 p.m. a fire rescue crew arrived at the corner of Southeast Blossom and Southeast Leonard roads, responding to a car with its engine compartment on fire.
Crews quickly extinguished the fire.
No other information was available May 14.
The cause of fire in both incidents remains under investigation according to fire officials.
