Estero Boulevard south of Fort Myers Beach closed after serious multi-vehicle crash.

Estero Boulevard was closed at the south end of the Big Carlos Bridge Saturday evening, Feb. 7, as emergency workers responded to a serious, multi-vehicle crash.

One person was “trauma alerted,” the Lee County Sheriff’s Office posted on its X account around 7:30 p.m.

The post said that all lanes of Estero Boulevard were closed at Hickory Boulevard near Little Hickory Island.

Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area and take a different route. Some motorists reported on social media that they were stuck for hours or were turning around and taking the alternative route to get onto Estero Island from the north.
