Florida State is feeling pretty good about itself these days with the wave of talent they’ve acquired on the recruiting trail. The 2026 recruiting class has added 14 commitments since June, and the prized recruit, five-star cornerback Chauncey Kennon, committed on Sunday.
When it comes to FSU as of late, there’s some anxiety when players make their commitments due to many of them decommitting or flipping since last year. Kennon not only shut down his recruitment after he chose Florida State, but the Sarasota native revealed via his Instagram that he had gotten an FSU-inspired tattoo that he’s been hiding for a little while.
Fans of the Seminoles won’t have to wait long for Kennon to be in Tallahassee either. After his senior season is completed, Kennon plans to enroll early in January, and there’s a specific reason why.
“Main thing, I want to build myself up as much as I can. I want to be league ready. There is school and all, but at the end of the day, I want to get to the next level, the highest level, that is what I’m trying to get to, my second contract,” Kennon told Noles247.
Florida State couldn’t have been happier to land a prospect of the caliber of Kennon. Having him be locked into this degree already is a bonus.
