Florida State has been heavily involved in the recruitment of four-star cornerback Chauncey Kennon over the last year. He took trips to Tallahassee in January and March, and he was also present on Wednesday for a 7-on-7 camp.
On Friday, Kennon will once again see FSU, but this time it will be for an official visit. The Sarasota, Florida product is eager to be around the program again.
“I’m really excited to get back up to Tally,” Kennon told Warchant. “I got a strong relationship with everybody, so it should be a good vibe when I come up here.”
Kennon is the No. 45 overall recruit in the nation and the No. 5 cornerback per On3’s industry rankings. The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder is the No. 5 prospect in all of Florida as well.
July 6 is the date that Kennon will announce his decision. Florida State is at the top of his list along with the Georgia Bulldogs and LSU Tigers. This visit with FSU is squeezed in between his visits with Georgia and LSU.
There are a few specific things that Kennon wants to see when he gets there on Friday.
“Probably just building the relationship more and more, that’s the top part …,”said Kennon. “Everything’s really checked off besides just building, getting to know the coaches more and more … probably just taking the pictures and getting in the uniform for myself and then get the feel of being a Seminole.”
FSU was able to land four-star wide receiver Brandon Bennett on Thursday. Snagging Kennon also would be a big boost to their 2026 class.
