Judge calls on Santa Rosa Schools to fire IT Specialist Keith Elliott

Administrative Law Judge Yolonda Green issued an order Aug. 20 recommending that the Santa Rosa County School Board terminate the employment of IT Specialist Keith Elliott.

“Evidence established that Respondent’s (Elliott’s) ‘misconduct in office’ is ‘just cause’ for terminating his employment contract,” Green wrote near the conclusion of her 21-page recommended order.

Green found that Elliott had not committed any violations of principles of professional conduct or violations of School Board policy by lurking at a scorer’s table twice during the week of June 24, 2025 while female volleyball players practiced.

She found, however, that he had violated six other principles and three policies and wrote that in Elliott’s case any discipline other than termination would not be feasible.

Less than 900 ECPS teachers to receive state-mandated salary increases

Most Escambia County Public School educators will not receive a portion of Escambia County’s $2.4 million in Teacher Salary Increase Allocation (TSIA) funds this year.

Only educators with at least 10 years of full-time teaching experience in a Florida public school qualify for the allocation, according to the criteria set by the Legislature. Enacted in 2020, TSIA is a state-funded program to raise compensation and starting pay for teachers.

Statewide, $201 million was set aside for school districts and charter schools to provide up to $3,000 salary increases to classroom teachers and certified pre-kindergarten teachers funded in the Florida Education Finance Program, a general fund of sorts that provides funding for everything from instructional materials, to student transportation, to school safety programs.

The restaurant was known to offer Korean Barbecue, hot pot and sushi, replacing Lee’s BBQ & Hot Pot.

Pensacola area has dozens of Flock cameras. Have you been flocked?

Public opposition against Flock Safety’s AI-powered license plate-reading cameras continues to grow, as do open-source tools citizens use to fight back.

Deflock.org lets users map out Flock camera locations, FlockHopper helps users plan out Flock-free routes and alpr.watch helps alert citizens about local government meetings where surveillance tech may be a subject of discussion.

HaveIBeenFlocked is one of the more popular sites that lets users search for their license plate number to see if it has been searched in Flock’s database. Here’s how to find out if you’ve been flocked:
