David Clark, executive director of the Downtown Ecumenical Services Council, will soon become president and CEO of another Jacksonville-based nonprofit — Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida.
Clark begins his new position June 30.
He succeeds the late Bill Brim, who led the agency since 2019 but died in December. Chief Financial Officer Richard Mochowski was interim CEO.
“I’m leaving an organization very close to my heart and I know it’s in good hands,” Clark said. “This allows me to fully embrace the wonderful work LSS is doing in this community.”
Founded in 1979, the nonprofit helps refugees settle in the area; provides case management, mental health services and education for people living with HIV and AIDS; runs a food pantry; and offers financial management for low-income people.
Board chairwoman Tracy Williams said, “We believe David Clark is the right leader to help expand our impact and strengthen our service.”
