The Camino Real Bridge in Boca Raton has reopened after more than 11 hours of being stuck in its up position, Palm Beach County road officials say.
All lanes on the bridge closed after it became stuck at 2 a.m. on June 18. Road crews reopened the bridge after 1 p.m.
A device that helps lock the bridge, a bascule lock bar, had broken, the city said in its alert that morning on social media.
Drivers had to take the Palmetto Park Road bridge less than one mile north, or the Hillsboro Boulevard bridge less than two miles south in Deerfield Beach.
Boats could still sail under the stuck bridge, the city said.
When the state-owned Lake Worth Bridge in March became stuck due to a broken part, it took one month to fully reopen to vehicle traffic because the new part had to be ordered, made and delivered to Palm Beach County.
