Fantasy football drafts are unfolding each and every day as we get closer to the regular season. Each pick is either one step closer to a championship, or further away, thats the beauty of the game.
According to Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay, the Bucs have one of the best pieces to pair with a star to avoid disaster striking your team.
Kay compiled a list of the best handcuffs for each team in fantasy football for 2025. At the running back position, having a handcuff is having the starter’s backup in case of injury, or in rare cases, as a locking up of a dual backfield. For the Bucs, Kay lists White as the ninth-best handcuff to have in fantasy football in 2025.
Kay writes, “The Buccaneers backfield may have changed up the pecking order from last year, with White now backing up Bucky Irving, but both backs should remain highly productive in their second season together. White is one of the best pass-catching backs in the NFL and has strong value in PPR formats due to this trait. Although he lost his starting job to a breakout rookie, the veteran still logged an RB22 finish largely thanks to his ability to reel in receptions. . .If Irving misses time, White immediately elevates from an RB3/flex option to a must-start player with massive upside in Tampa’s potent offense.”
The Bucs offense is going to be explosive, and despite suffering a groin injury, the team remains optimistic about his work for the team. So while Bucky Irving is the man heading into the year, don’t lose sight of White even if he is in the rear view mirror.
