Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report recently released a 2027 NFL mock draft and projected the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to select Trey’Dez Green with the 19th overall pick.
The LSU standout would give Tampa Bay another intriguing pass-catching option and create an interesting pairing alongside Cade Otton, who signed a three-year contract extension earlier this offseason.
According to Sobleski, the fit comes from the contrasting skill sets of the two tight ends. Otton has established himself as a traditional in-line tight end, while Green offers a different type of weapon thanks to his size and ability to operate away from the line of scrimmage.
At 6-foot-7 and 237 pounds, Green presents matchup problems for opposing defenses. His combination of length and catch radius could give quarterback Baker Mayfield another large target in the passing game and add a new dimension to offensive coordinator Zac Robinson’s personnel packages.
Sobleski also noted that Green would not be viewed as a direct replacement for Mike Evans, who departed Tampa Bay after 12 seasons with the franchise. However, his size would bring something different to a receiver group whose top options are all listed at 6-foot-1.
While the 2027 NFL Draft remains a long way off, the projection is notable because it connects Tampa Bay to another LSU pass catcher with rare physical traits. If Green continues his development over the next year, he could become one of the more intriguing offensive prospects in the upcoming draft class.
