The FSU softball program has had three players enter the transfer portal after the end of the 2026 season. The first to announce her plans was sophomore outfielder Addie DeLong, who played in just one game this year before suffering a season-ending injury.
She saw plenty of action as a true freshman in 2025, playing in 55 games and hitting .333 in 30 at-bats with one double, one triple, and two RBI. She stole six bases and was expected to have a bigger role in 2026 after serving as a base runner and defensive replacement in the outfield.
Softball America currently ranks her as one of the top outfielders in the transfer portal. They have ranked her as the No. 16 overall player and No. 4 outfielder, giving her a 91.00 grade. That grade would have made her the 38th-best player in last year’s portal class.
DeLong is from Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and was one of the top members of FSU’s 2024 signing class. She was ranked as the No. 25 overall player and No. 3 outfielder by Softball America. She said she will have three seasons of eligibility at her next stop.
