A 42-year-old Melbourne woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Melbourne on Friday, Aug. 14, Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The woman, whose name was not released by FHP, was exiting a parking lot on North Wickham Road in a 2019 Honda Insight around 8:11 p.m. when she attempted to turn left and head east on Wickham, troopers said. Her vehicle entered the direct path of a 2023 Toyota Tacoma, driven by a Rockledge man, 20, which was in the inside lane approaching the intersection of Capron Trail. The front of the Toyota struck the passenger side of the Honda, sending both vehicles off the road, troopers said.
The Melbourne woman was pronounced dead at Viera Hospital. The Rockledge man and his passenger were also taken to Viera Hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
