Coco Gauff has advanced to her first Wimbledon semifinals.
The Delray Beach resident rallied to defeat Jessica Pegula, who lives in Boca Raton, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, July 7.
She next plays Thursday, July 9 with the chance to move to the finals this weekend at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.
Gauff, seeded seventh, will hope to add Wimbledon to her U.S. Open and French Open crowns.
Reaching the quarterfinals matched the excitement of her breakout 2019 Wimbledon campaign when she beat Venus Williams as a 15-year-old. But she’s stumbled in recent years on the grass courts here, bowing out in the first round of two of the past three tournaments.
