Bleacher Report has three things the Bucs must do before the 2025 season

While the NFL offseason is over for the most part, there remains a small window for teams to make last-minute tweaks to their rosters. They have to act quick, of course, as training camp is just around the corner.

Bleacher Report recently created to-do lists for every team to complete before training camps kick off in July. The Bucs’ list seems simple in practice, but it may be difficult to complete some tasks.

Kristopher Knox writes that the Bucs must “Adjust to Liam Coen’s Departure, Start Sorting Through the Secondary Depth Chart, and Find Additional Edge-Rushing Help.”

We wanted to explain how we thought the Bucs could check those boxes off, starting with adjusting to Liam Coen’s departure. They already started with making that smoother than anyone could have hoped for when they promoted pass game coordinator Josh Grizzard to playcaller. The familiarity with Baker Mayfield and company should allow for the offense to remain on the right path in 2025.

Next up is sorting through the secondary depth. While half the Bucs issues in that department were solved by getting healthy over the offseason, it will still revolve around what they will get out of draft pick Benjamin Morrison, coming off a hip injury. There also remain some veteran options on the free agent market, such as Stephon Gilmore, that the Bucs could add, though that remains to be seen.

Round out their list is finding additional edge help, this one doesn’t necessarily need to be here as it has been done as best it can. The team added Haason Reddick in the offseason to play opposite Yaya Diaby, but they also plan to utilize Calijah Kancey more in the middle. They can kill two birds with one stone by generating more interior pass rush to take pressure off their edges, the production will pickup from there.
