Several of the Big Bend’s top high school football prospects have locked in their collegiate futures, continuing a strong run of Division I recruiting success across the Tallahassee area.
With summer commitments picking up pace, local standouts from Godby, Rickards and Wakulla have each announced where they will play at the next level.
The Tallahassee Democrat is tracking the area’s top prospects as decisions come in.
Here are the latest commitments:
Jamarin Simmons, WR, Godby
Why Clemson: “There was no point in waiting. I felt like it was the best for me, my mom and my siblings,” Simmons said. “Clemson was the best school for me. They are consistent. They call every other day to check on me. They call my mom and my dad to make sure they’re good. It was just the relationship and bond that we have.”
Davion Crumitie, ATH, Rickards
Why Vanderbilt: “It was really the team, the home and all the players,” Crumitie said. “They treated it like home. They are getting speed, and that’s what I bring. I’m going to give them what they want.”
Jaylen Jones, S, Wakulla
Why Jacksonville State: “The coaching staff showed a lot of love,” Jones said. “When I got there during my official visit, the campus and everything were nice and felt like home.”
