Bethel Missionary Baptist Church holds Mental Health Workshop

Local healthcare partners, in collaboration with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, will present the 2026 Mental Healthcare Workshop from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Bethel Family Life Center Gymnasium, 406 North Bronough St.

This educational wellness event will host concurrent sessions focused on “Healthy Hearts, Healthy Minds, God’s Way,” with age-appropriate, faith-based activities to support emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.

The aim isn’t therapy, but creating a safe, engaging, Christ-centered space for individuals to learn healthy ways to handle stress, worry, sadness, and frustration.

Meanwhile, adults can join a panel discussion on “Safe Homes, Healthy Minds, Supported Caregivers.”

Featured speakers include Dr. DeAnna Burney, Professor of Psychology at Florida A&M University; Dr. Sabrina Dickey, Associate Professor at Florida State University’s College of Nursing and panel facilitator; Mr. Drake Gunning, LCSW, Owner of Anew Life Counseling & Consulting, LLC; Apalachee Center; and Ms. Muerriell Williams, LPN, Hearts’N Soul, Community Education Representative, Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Enjoy free health screenings, lunch, food distribution sponsored by Second Harvest, and educational materials from various vendors. Please pre-register at betheltally.org. On-site registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 27. The event is free and opened to the public.
