Axis Therapy put Legendary Marine away 25-23 to keep a clean slate in the city of Destin’s Lower Division Coed Softball Tournament on May 7 at Morgan Sports Center.
Axis stepped out to a 10-1 lead in the first two innings.
In the top of the third, Legendary tied the game with nine runs. Axis answered with four in the bottom half to go up 14-10.
In the top of the fourth inning, Legendary scored another nine runs to take the lead. Axis came back with six runs to take a 20-19 lead.
In the fifth, Legendary scored three and Axis scored five for a 25-22 advantage.
In the last inning, Legendary could only muster one run, with Axis taking the win.
Steve Rivera led Axis with a double and three singles for six RBIs. Anthony Morton hit two doubles and two singles for two RBIs, and Matt Campbell cranked out a home run and two singles for three RBIs.
Jackson Fette knocked in six runs for Legendary on a home run, double and a single. Shannon Brinkley hit three singles for two RBIs, and Grayson Kemp connected for two doubles and a single for an RBI. Brooks Barton hit a home run.
Axis will advance to play Eighty-Sixed for the title on May 14 at 6:45 p.m.

Eighty-Sixed 14, Legendary Marine 11
Legendary led 6-0 at the end of four innings.
Eighty-Sixed finally got on the board in the top of the fifth with five runs.
In the top of the sixth, Eighty-Sixed took the lead with two runs.
In the seventh, Eighty-Sixed added seven more runs.
Legendary came up short in the bottom half with five runs.
Sterling Laranzo led Eighty-Sixed with two doubles and a single for three RBIs. Ashley Gaydos doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs, and Summer Sullivan doubled and singled for an RBI.
Grayson Kemp was tops for Legendary with two doubles and a single for two RBIs. Jackson Fette hit two singles, and Shannon Brinkley hit two singles for two RBIs.
Eighty-Sixed 17, Fudpuckers 16
Eighty-Sixed stepped out to a 15-8 lead in the first four innings.
Fudpuckers closed the gap in the bottom of the fifth with four runs.
Eighty-Sixed scored two in the top of the sixth inning for a 17-12 lead. Fuds finished with three in the bottom of the sixth and one run in the seventh.
Big hitters for Eighty-Sixed were Owen Workman with four singles, Perry Matuzek with a triple and two singles, and Steve Kertz with two home runs.
Austin Marple hit a triple and three singles for Fudpuckers, and John Faulkner a single.
