After winning the FHSAA individual bowling state championship title, Astronaut High’s James McGill has been named the 2025 Florida Dairy Farmer Mr. Bowling.
McGill won his state title on Oct. 30 after he defeated S.L.A.M Tampa’s Devin Bailey in the championship match. McGill won the championship title in games of 214-175, 185-213, and 240-237.
Prior to his state championship win, McGill helped the War Eagles win teams titles at both the Cape Coast Conference and District 6 competitions.
McGill was named FLORIDA TODAY’s 2024-25 All-Space Coast Bowler of the Year.
Carly Rhodes of Largo High School was named Florida Dairy Farmer Miss Bowling after winning a state championship of her own this season.
East River coach Tom Tagye was named girls coach of the year, while Seabreeze coach Paul Shuler was named boys coach of the year. Both Tagye and Shuler repeated as coaches of the year after they coached their squads to state championship team titles this season.
Shuler and the Sandcrabs won their second consecutive state title and Tagye and the Falcons won their third consecutive state championship.
