A woman died after being struck by an Amtrak train in Simi Valley on June 4.
Officers with the Simi Valley Police Department responded to the train tracks near the intersection of Sycamore Drive and Los Angeles Avenue just before 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports that a train had struck a pedestrian, according to a police department news release.
Officers found a woman had been the victim of the crash and pronounced the woman dead at the scene, the release says.
Sabrina Davis, a spokesperson for Metrolink, confirmed the train was not a Metrolink train but one from Amtrak.
Amtrak had not responded to inquiries about the fatal crash as of 8 a.m. June 5.
