It’s nearly the Fourth of July, and we all know what needs to be top of the menu: a good ole-fashioned hot dog.
Whether you’re a Midwesterner at heart like me and you prefer Chicago style, or you like your dogs with a Mexican American twist, the good news is you can find all that and more right here in the Coachella Valley.
We asked readers on Instagram to nominate their favorite local hot dog seller, and they absolutely delivered. Thank you to everyone who helped us compile our top five! Now, it’s time to vote for your favorite dog in our poll below, which will be open from 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 through 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30.
The winner will be announced in a story published on Wednesday, July 1.
Here are your top five:
The Dogg Father Catering

Dogos El Chavalon
Dogos El Chavalon is a home-based vendor and catering business in Coachella specializing in Mexicali-style hot dogs, corn dogs and loaded salchipapas. You can follow them at @dogos_elchavalon.

One Stop Taco Shop
This Indio taco shop/gas station store (at 84-051 Indio Blvd., Indio) is best known for its tacos, but they also serve four different varieties of hot dogs, from Sinaloa-style street dogs to “embarazado,” aka northern Mexican street-style hot dogs. You can follow them at @onestoptacoshop.
Palm Springs Stadium
OK, so this one isn’t a business in the traditional sense, but many a fond desert memory have been made over a dog and a baseball game at Palm Springs Stadium. Learn more at palmspringspowerbaseball.com.
