The USC Trojans’ defense has many young players who, under new defensive coordinator Gary Patterson, should be ready to make big jumps. Gray Patterson was brought to USC to take the Trojans’ defense to the next level. His job is to lift that unit to the point where it can mirror the Trojans’ 2025 offensive success. One player to monitor on the Trojans’ defense is sophomore corner Alex Graham.
In a recent article, Kendell Hollowell highlighted USC Trojans coaches’ recent comments on corner Alex Graham. Here is what the current confidence level on Graham is:
“When redshirt freshman defensive back Alex Graham walked onto the practice field for spring practice in early March, he had noticeably added muscle from when last season ended in late December.
Here is what the coaches had to say:
“Alex has a great work ethic, got a pro approach,” said safeties coach Paul Gonzales. “I like being around that every day, so I’m just excited for him and his development, what we’ve done so far and how we can continue to build that this summer.”
With the Trojans’ new and improved defensive staff, they will have Graham in a great position for a successful sophomore season. It is safe to assume that great defensive mind Gary Patterson will find great use of Graham’s talent this season. Graham, now that he is fully healthy, will be a very integral piece for the Trojans defensive success this season.
