In just a few days, The Underground Arcade will host a Comic Giveaway Day in downtown Stockton.
The free family-friendly event will be giving away free comic books, while supplies last, to participants from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at The Underground Arcade located in the Courthouse Plaza at 306 E. Main St., in downtown Stockton. This is the video arcade’s first giveaway of its kind.
“We’re bringing you an inspired extravaganza with delicious desserts, hot food, and something for everyone! You won’t want to miss out on fantastic Pokémon cards, sports cards, and free comics for all ages,” The Underground Arcade states in a Facebook post. “But that’s not all! Bring the whole family for a day packed with fun activities, including our thrilling pool tournament, exciting golf tournaments, engaging scavenger hunts, and so much more! This is a free event designed to bring our community together.”
The event will also feature arcade games, a pop culture marketplace with local vendors who will sell comics, collectibles, figures and trading cards, the “Comic Giveaway Day at the Underground Arcade” Eventbrite page states.
Tickets are free, but to reserve your spot, visit the Eventbrite page by May 2.
“Guests are invited to explore the arcade, enjoy classic and modern games, and check out what’s new at this growing downtown destination,” the Eventbrite page states. “The Underground Arcade is a youth-owned cooperative, and events like this help support young entrepreneurs as they gain real-world experience running a business.”
The Underground Arcade is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. On the weekends, it’s only open by appointment. The Underground Arcade can also be reserved for events.
