The “Kirtan with Radhika Das” gathering is more than music; it’s a movement of service, which includes a portion of proceeds going directly to support meaningful charities and other activities around the world, according to the artist.

The power of sound

Radhika said that from an early age, he was fascinated by the power of sound and how a single melody could shift a mood, calm a restless mind or bring people together.

That fascination grew into a realization that sound doesn’t just influence people, it also transforms them, he said.

“This discovery led me to mantra meditation, where sacred sound becomes a doorway to connection, healing and joy,” Radhika said. “To me, mantras are more than words; they are gifts of love, carrying peace and presence wherever they are sung or spoken.”

He explained that what began as small gatherings eventually evolved into mantra meditation nights in London, New York, Mumbai and beyond.

“Together with a dedicated band of musicians, I’ve seen thousands of people from all walks of life come together through chanting, singing and dancing,” Radhika said. “For me, mantra is not just music, it’s nourishment for the soul, offering grounding in times of change, calm in moments of chaos and joy when life feels heavy.”

The power of transcendental sound has been channeled by various traditions throughout history and throughout the world. Many believe chants, prayers, hymns and recitation of sacred texts can awaken mankind’s inherent spiritual nature, according to Radhika.

The word “mantra” is a Sanskrit word meaning “that which liberates and cleanses the mind,” and refers to a sacred sound formula that is vibrated repeatedly as a process of purifying the heart and mind, allowing the innate brilliance within to shine out.

Radhika teaches workshops, trainings, talks and retreats annually in over 30 cities worldwide, according to his website.

He created online and on-demand courses with other collaborators and hosts the podcast For Soul’s Sake.
