The UCLA Bruins softball team took down Seattle University in a 16-10 victory at Anderson Family Field in Fullerton, Calif., on Saturday.
UCLA starting freshman pitcher Natalie Cable had a rough time on the mound by allowing 10 hits and 10 runs in her four innings. However, senior Taylor Tinsley and sophomore Brynne Nally came in to help close out the game and shut out the RedHawks.

Sophomore outfielder Rylee Slimp, senior utility Megan Grant and senior infielder Jordan Woolery were the first three Bruins up to bat and all three walked. Slimp scored. Seattle University would score two runs off Cable to conclude the first.
UCLA was able to retake the lead at 4-2 with three runs in the top of the third, but a grand slam by the RedHawks put the Bruins behind Seattle University heading into the fourth.
In the top of the fourth, UCLA scored five runs. One run came off a fielding error and redshirt junior infielder Ramsey Suarez stealing home plate. Seattle bounced back by scoring four more runs off Cable, leading 10-9 into the fifth.
UCLA kept the scoring spree going with five more runs in the top of the fifth. Four came off a grand slam from redshirt junior centerfielder Alexis Ramirez. UCLA had a 14-10 lead and increased it by two thanks to a home run by Grant in the top of the seventh.
The Bruins will end their time at Anderson Family Field in Fullerton on Sunday against Oregon State at 9:30 a.m. PT.
