Tulare County voters weigh options in Board of Supervisors District 4 race

As Tulare County voters head to the polls, they will decide the fate of several locals seats, including Tulare County Board of Supervisors District 4.

District 4 includes Dinuba, Woodlake, Badger, Cutler-Orosi, Elderwood, Goshen, Ivanhoe, London, Monson-Sultana, Seville, Three Rivers, Traver, Yettem and a small section of Visalia.

Incumbent Eddie Valero is facing two challengers: Woodlake Mayor Rudy Mendoza and businessman Ian Bakke.

District 4 candidates

Eddie Valero (Incumbent): Valero is a Tulare County native. He was elected to Tulare County Board of Supervisors in 2018. Prior to being elected to represent District 4, Valero served as trustee and school board president of Cutler-Orosi Unified. His priorities include water, fiscal responsibility and public safety.

Rudy Mendoza: Mendoza is currently serving as Woodlake mayor and as chairman on the TCAG Board of Directors. He is the CEO of an ag company. His plan for District 4 includes protecting the community and strengthening Tulare County’s economy.

Ian Bakke: The Tulare County resident is the chief operating officer at Bakke Ag Services. After high school, Bakke enlisted in the Air Force. He believes his experience as a small business owner is what qualifies him to serve on Tulare County Board of Supervisors. His priorities are: infrastructure, public safety, water, agriculture and community service.

Polls close at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2. Visalia Times-Delta will update this article when results are released.
