There will be many teams in this upcoming draft trying to upgrade pivotal position rooms, and with receivers being one of the premier positions for this draft class, that will be a highlight of this draft. No better receiver to turn a team’s receiver room around quickly than Makai Lemon, who has immense upside.
In a final mock draft before the real thing, Dane Brugler lists the Jets as the most realistic landing spot for Makai Lemon. Here is what Brugler had to say about Lemon landing with the Jets at pick 16:
“The Jets not having a player with more than 400 receiving yards last season still blows my mind. Lemon doesn’t have elite size or speed, but he is extremely quarterback-friendly with his route manipulation and toughness.”
Geno Smith will be the Jets’ starting quarterback this next season, but as for the future, that guy is not in the building just yet. Makai Lemon will be a huge boost in this Jets receiver room for the present and the future. He and Garrett Wilson will turn this Jets receiver room into one of the best overnight. Geno Smith had great success with Tyler Lockett, think he and Makai Lemon can create that same magic.
