Steve Kerr reveals why he and Kristaps Porzingis skipped their exit meeting

Golden State Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. expressed a desire to retain both Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis this summer. Horford has a player option to return for his second year in Golden State and his 20th season in the NBA. As for Porzingis, he’s an unrestricted free agent, and the Warriors may have competition to re-sign him.

Last week, head coach Steve Kerr revealed that he did not have a customary exit meeting with the Latvian forward. “Kristaps, actually, we did not have an exit meeting. I gave him a pass on the exit meeting because he had to fly somewhere, like, the next day after our season ended.”

Kerr went on to say: “There’s only so much you need to discuss. He’s obviously unrestricted. I’d love to have him back.”

With a list of 10 potential free agents, the Warriors front office will have their work cut out for them as they aim to build around former two-time MVP Stephen Curry once again.
