Steph Curry reveals what helped him decide on Li-Ning partnership

News broke Monday evening that Stephen Curry agreed to a new sneaker deal following a brief hiatus. Curry’s first signature shoe was made with Under Armour, but he parted ways with the company in November of 2025. Curry’s new deal is with Chinese brand Li-Ning.

Although Li-Ning may not be the most well-known brand in the United States, its popularity in China continues to increase. Additionally, the brand is partnered with many other notable current and former NBA players, including Dwyane Wade, Fred VanVleet, D’Angelo Russell and Curry’s current teammate, Jimmy Butler.

As admitted by Curry, this factor played a pivotal role in his decision to join the brand. “Throughout my sneaker free agency, I was impressed by the quality, comfort & performance of Li-Ning’s shoes. It was during that time playing in Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler’s sneakers that I knew Li-Ning could be the right partner to deliver on the innovation & design that I want Curry Brand to stand for.”

While Curry and Li-Ning have not released their first shoe yet, Warriors fans will be happy to know that Curry’s deal will include lifestyle brand clothing and a signature golf line.
