Garrett DiGiorgio didn’t hear his name called during the 2026 NFL Draft, but the former Serrano High School standout is getting his opportunity at the next level.
Shortly after the draft concluded, DiGiorgio agreed to terms with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent, continuing a football journey that began in the High Desert and carried him through a standout career at UCLA.
The Jaguars drafted 10 players, including guard Emmanuel Pregnon, of Oregon, in the third round.
While he wasn’t selected, DiGiorgio becomes part of a small group of High Desert players to reach the NFL ranks. The last local player to sign with a squad following the draft is Silverado’s Trevon Clark, who signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2022.
Specifics about DiGiorgio’s deal with Jacksonville were not immediately available Saturday.
After graduating from Serrano in 2020, DiGiorgio headed to UCLA, choosing the Bruins over several major programs, including Cal, Utah and Duke. The decision, he said at the time, was rooted in both opportunity and connection.
“I love the area and the community that surrounds it,” DiGiorgio told the Daily Press. “The culture, history and people that are a part of the school really helped me make my decision.”
That choice led to one of the most consistent offensive line careers in program history.
DiGiorgio finished with 49 career starts, ranking second on UCLA’s all-time list. His experience spanned multiple positions, including 38 starts at right tackle, along with time at left tackle and right guard.
Listed at 6-foot-7 and 319 pounds, he brings the frame and strength NFL teams covet on the interior.
He earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors as a senior.
At the NFL Combine, DiGiorgio recorded a 6.00 Relative Athletic Score, reflecting a prospect with strong size and power metrics but room to grow in agility and speed.
Before his success at UCLA, DiGiorgio made his mark at Serrano, where he helped power the Diamondbacks’ run-heavy offense to back-to-back CIF-Southern Section semifinal appearances.
A three-year varsity starter, he earned All-Mojave River League honors and was named to the Daily Press All-Area team. His senior season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, but his impact on the program was already well established.
“My favorite memory of playing at Serrano is being able to go to the semifinals twice with all my brothers,” he said at the time. “Being able to go somewhere in CIF shows how close of a bond we all have.”
