It began with an argument between the attacker and a 28-year-old victim, according to agency spokeswoman Gloria Orejel.

“When it became physical, the suspect… stabbed the victim in the face and fled the area,” she said.

Responding deputies found and arrested Preston Eugene Holloway, 34, of Victorville, county jail records show.

An update on the victim’s condition was not clear.

Bail for Holloway was set at $1 million pending an initial court appearance, scheduled Tuesday, April 28, in the Victorville branch of San Bernardino County Superior Court.
