The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority (VVWRA) announced recent success at the annual California Water Environment Association, Desert and Mountain Section Awards ceremony.
The Victorville-based agency secured “a remarkable seven prestigious honors, including Plant of the Year,” agency officials stated.
“This significant achievement is a testament to VVWRA’s commitment to operational excellence and the dedication of its highly skilled staff,” the agency said.
The awards highlight Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority’s “dominance” in facility management, with all three of its wastewater treatment plants earning the top honors in their respective categories, according to officials.
The agency also saw four individual staff members recognized for their outstanding contributions.
“To win seven awards is a testament to the hard work, expertise, and commitment of every VVWRA employee,” General Manager Darron Poulsen said. “These honors affirm that our focus on efficiency, safety, and protecting the environment is recognized as best-in-class within our industry. We are incredibly proud to serve the Victor Valley community while setting a high standard for water resource recovery.”
Officials said the seven awards received by the agency included Medium Plant of the Year for Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority’s main plant, which recognizes overall operational excellence and compliance.
“The Small Plant of the Year was awarded to the Apple Valley Subregional Water Recycling Facility, while the Tertiary Plant of the Year went to the Hesperia Subregional Water Recycling Plant,” the agency stated.

The Victor Valley Wastewater Reclamation Authority is a regional agency providing wastewater collection, treatment, and resource recovery services for Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville and portions of San Bernardino County, including Spring Valley Lake and Oro Grande.
