It’s July, and San Bernardino County officials are already preparing for its the third annual Halloween Marriage Services event at historic Calico Ghost Town.
Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Josie Gonzales is inviting couples on Halloween to tie the knot by saying “I boo” at the spooky event in Yermo.
“We are thrilled to once again offer couples the opportunity to celebrate their special day in such a distinctive setting,” Gonzales said. “Whether you’re planning an intimate ceremony or simply looking for a fun and unforgettable way to say ‘I Boo,’ Calico Ghost Town offers an experience unlike any other.”
From ghostly romance to Old West charm, Calico Ghost Town offers a one-of-a-kind setting where couples can celebrate their love among historic buildings, mining relics and Halloween festivities, organizers said.
Whether arriving in traditional wedding attire, Western wear, or creative costumes, couples and their family will enjoy a memorable ceremony in a town built on striking silver.
“This is our third year partnering with the Assessor-Recorder-County-Clerk’s office by hosting weddings at Calico Ghost Town during Halloween season,” Regional Parks Director Beahta Davis said. “We are excited to offer this amazing opportunity on Halloween and invite couples and their guests to stay and celebrate with us until we close at 10 p.m.”
Making an appointment
The last day for couples to schedule an appointment is Friday, Oct. 23. Couples are encouraged to reserve their ceremony appointment early by calling 855-732-2575 and purchase park admission beforehand.
Additional information regarding marriage licenses, required documentation, and fees can be found at arc.sbcounty.gov/marriage.
County officials said couples and visitors should make plans early as the popular Halloween event is expected to sell out.
There is no limitation to a wedding party size, but a separate park entrance fee is required per person. Visitors should also arrive early, as parking will be limited.
Admission prices
General admission to Calico Ghost Town during the Halloween event is $15 for 12 and over, 4 to 11 is $10 and free admission for ages 3 and under. Parking is free
