Rams will activate Tutu Atwell off IR for Sunday's game vs. Lions

Tutu Atwell will make his long-awaited return this weekend. After missing four games on injured reserve while dealing with a hamstring injury, and then sitting out another two games because the Los Angeles Rams didn’t have roster space, he’ll be back in the mix on Sunday.

Sean McVay told reporters on Wednesday that Atwell will be activated off IR this week before Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. It’s unclear how involved Atwell will be or what his role will be on offense, but he will be added to the 53-man roster.

This season, Atwell has caught four passes for 164 yards with one touchdown. He signed a one-year, $10 million contract extension this offseason to remain with the Rams after his rookie deal expired.

Behind Davante Adams and Puka Nacua, the Rams will now have Tutu Atwell, Xavier Smith, Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield.
