Potential WR target for Rams at No. 13 could slide into back half of Round 1

After addressing cornerback and safety in free agency, it’s very possible the Los Angeles Rams will target a wide receiver with the 13th overall pick. Makai Lemon is a popular fit in mock drafts, as is Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson.

Unfortunately for Tyson, his stock seems to be slipping a bit. He often dealt with injuries in college and he still hasn’t recovered from the hamstring issue that ailed him late in the 2025 season.

Tyson didn’t participate in drills at the combine and also skipped working out at Arizona State’s pro day, which is giving some teams pause. ESPN’s Matt Miller spoke to scouts who believe his injury history and “lack of predraft workouts could cause him to slide to the back half of the first round.”

Some scouts even ranked Tyson as the fourth wide receiver on their boards, presumably behind Carnell Tate, Lemon and Omar Cooper Jr.

One player trending in the wrong direction leading up to the draft is Arizona State receiver Jordyn Tyson. In reviewing my grades with a handful of scouts, many remarked that Tyson’s hamstring injury and lack of predraft workouts could cause him to slide to the back half of the first round. Three scouts told me that Tyson ranks as the No. 4 receiver on their internal boards. He is scheduled to do positional work for NFL teams on April 17.

Tyson is an impressive prospect who some might even consider WR1 in this class if not for the injury history. He separates easily, has adequate speed on the outside and frequently elevates to make difficult catches in contested situations.

That’s exactly the type of wide receiver the Rams could use alongside Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, but would they take a chance on Tyson at No. 13 if there’s concern about his durability? We should find out next month, assuming he makes it to the 13th overall pick. But if the Rams feel he could be sliding, perhaps a trade back could net them an extra pick or two and Tyson.
