Officers found the pedestrian and the vehicle after arriving on scene and found the male pedestrian with major injuries, the release says.

Officers and paramedics provided aid to the man before he was taken to Ventura County Medical Center, the release says. The man “succumbed to his injuries” and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene and cooperated with investigators, the release says. Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash, the release added.
