Officials identify Victorville man, 71, found shot to death in truck

Sheriff’s officials have released the name of a 71-year-old Victorville man who was found shot to death inside a pickup truck crashed along Bear Valley Road on Saturday.

Carl Adrienne Moreno died in the shooting, which was first reported about 2:50 a.m. May 9, along Fifth Avenue, just north of Bear Valley Road, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

A witnesses reported seeing an unconscious man sitting inside a blue Chevrolet pickup truck that had crashed along the side of the road, sheriff’s officials said in a written statement.

“Deputies arrived and found the male, later identified as Carl Adrienne Moreno, suffering from a gunshot wound,” the statement said. “Medical aid responded and pronounced Moreno deceased.”

No suspects were in custody.

No information regarding the shooter or a possible motive was available.
