Teams have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET to make their final trades of 2025, either bolstering their roster for a playoff push or selling off assets for draft picks. Ahead of the NFL trade deadline, the Los Angeles Rams are unquestionably in the “buyer” category as legitimate Super Bowl contenders.
At 6-2, they’re one of the best teams in the league, tied for the most wins in the NFC. While they don’t need to make a splash this year as they have in seasons past, it wouldn’t hurt to add some more talent to the depth chart before the postseason arrives in January.
Leading up to Tuesday’s deadline, we’ll be tracking all the latest news and rumors surrounding the Rams.
Sean McVay doesn’t expect Rams to make another trade
McVay said on Monday that the Rams are “less likely” to make another trade to acquire talent before Tuesday’s deadline. He would “never say never” but there haven’t been “a lot of conversations” as of now, an indication that the Rams will stand pat.
Rams have inquired about Bengals defenders
According to The Athletic, the Rams are among the teams that have called the Bengals about their defenders, including Trey Hendrickson, Cam Taylor-Britt and Logan Wilson. It’s unclear which player the Rams are eyeing, or whether the Bengals would be willing to move any of them, but the interest is at least there.
Many teams, including the Rams, 49ers, Lions, Colts and Eagles, have called the Bengals on numerous players, including LB Logan Wilson, CB Cam Taylor-Britt and, of course, DE Trey Hendrickson. For now, some teams don’t believe Cincinnati has any real interest in moving its core pieces.
Sean McVay not ruling out another trade
The Rams already acquired Roger McCreary from the Titans but McVay didn’t rule out the possibility of Los Angeles making another trade before the deadline. Here’s what he said recently about whether the Rams will pursue any players and make a second trade.
“It’s not something that we’ve really talked about,” McVay said. “I think if certain opportunities arise that you feel like give you a chance to be able to significantly upgrade your football team, but I feel really good about our group and the growth that I still think can be had from us in spite of doing some good things. That’s really in all three phases. It hasn’t been something that we’ve really talked about, but I certainly would never rule that out.”
