Investigators arrested a 78-year-old Hesperia man Monday on suspicion of stalking and harassing a woman and her 5-year-old child in and around the Victor Valley Transportation Center in Victorville, officials said.
Raymond Ramirez Macias was taken into custody about 10 a.m. Feb. 16 at a home in the 7700 block of of Oakwood Avenue in Hesperia, according to San Bernardino County booking records.
He was booked on suspicion of stalking and annoying or molesting a child.
The arrest resulted from “a series” of recent incidents, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in an written statement.
“The investigation began after security personnel at the Victor Valley Transportation Center reported a male suspect who had been following females from various bus stops throughout the High Desert to the transportation center in Victorville,” the statement said.
The suspect also tried to persuade the alleged victims to get into his red, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
“Through the investigation Macias was identified as the suspect involved in these incidents,” according to the sheriff’s department statement.
Investigators said they wanted to talk to any potential additional victims.
Macias was released on bail pending legal proceedings, records show.
