“The victim reported his vehicle had been shot at following a dispute with the suspect while they were in Lucerne Valley,” the sheriff’s department said in a written statement. “After following the victim into Apple Valley, the suspect, later identified as Alejandro Cervin, fired at the victim’s vehicle at the intersection of Bear Valley Road and Central Road. The victim was not hit by gunfire.”

Deputies following up on the investigation obtained a search warrant and arrested Cervin without a struggle Wednesday evening at a home in the 11500 block of Locust Avenue in Lucerne Valley, officials said.

It was not clear what the suspect and victim argued about prior to the shooting. No further details were avaiable.

Bail for Cervin was set at $800,000 pending his initial court appearance.
