49ers select De'Zhaun Stribling: 4 things to know about the WR

The San Francisco 49ers traded down twice in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft, picking up additional capital later on to help them fill out the roster and address other needs.

San Francisco’s first pick came at No. 33 overall, as they took Ole Miss wide receiver De’Zhaun Stribling.

Before Stribling steps into the 49ers’ facility for the first time as a member of the team, let’s introduce him to the fan base.

Measurables

Stribling is 6-foot-2 and weighs 207 pounds. At the combine, he ran a 4.36-second 40-yard dash with a 1.53-second 10-yard split. He also recorded a 36-inch vertical jump and 127-inch broad jump.

College Stats

The wide receiver played two seasons for Washington State, two for Oklahoma State and one for Ole Miss. In 56 games over five years, he caught 216 passes for 2,964 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Sports in his blood

Stribling’s uncle was professional wrestler Don “The Rock” Muraco, who wrestled in the World Wrestling Federation from 1981 to 1988 (h/t The Athletic’s Dane Brugler). Muraco was a WWF Intercontinental heavyweight champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 by the legendary Mick Foley.

Expected Role

With San Francisco signing Mike Evans and Christian Kirk this offseason, and Ricky Pearsall hopefully healthy, Stribling will likely be fighting for the third or fourth spot in the wide receiver room. That could be very important depending on the health of running back Christian McCaffrey and tight end George Kittle, who are two of Brock Purdy’s favorite targets.
