Watch out, Redding. the Asphalt Cowboys said the Lone Stranger and Sidekick will strike again on Tuesday in their annual Redding Rodeo Week (mock) crime spree.
Solve the clues and capture the varmints or find their ill-gotten loot to win cash prizes this week in this citywide contest.
The two local celebrities dressed as the desperate desperadoes will mosey into a yet unnamed Redding area business and make off with the loot, Asphalt Cowboys spokesperson Dave Tappan said. As usual, members of the philanthropic organization will be in pretend hot pursuit. Also as usual, the masked marauders will give them the slip ― as they’ve done for more than 50 years. Then it’s up to you to figure out their identities and find the loot.
There’s a new clue published at Redding.com daily through Friday, or until the Asphalt Cowboys announce winners in both games. The contest ends at 5 p.m. Friday.
Here’s how to play the game for cash prizes.
If no one wins on Tuesday, cash prizes drop to $400 per contest on Wednesday, $300 on Thursday and $200 on Friday.

How to win cash in the Asphalt Cowboys mock bank robbery contest
If you find the loot, follow the attached instructions to claim your prize. Here are the rules:
Call 530-223-1188 to identify the Lone Stranger and Sidekick.
If no one correctly guesses the disguised villains’ identity by 5 p.m. Friday, or finds the loot, those no-good-nicks will get away with the money, Tappan said.
Either way, they’ll be in the Redding Rodeo Parade on Saturday, flaunting their lawlessness.
