Jimmy Butler isn’t a stranger to changing up his hairstyle throughout his career. His change to a straightened hairstyle took over the Miami Heat’s media day in 2023, creating memes and jokes that made headlines across social media. In 2024, Butler brought back a more subtle look, something many fans of the Golden State Warriors have grown used to. Yet, in 2026, Butler is changing it up again.
On Monday, Butler caught the attention of many by shaving his hair down to a buzzcut. On Instagram, Butler said goodbye to his braids and welcomed a buzzcut. Along with pictures, Butler shared a video of his haircut with the caption stating “Marquette Jimmy loading,” a callback to his college career in Wisconsin.

Butler is currently rehabbing an ACL injury from last season. In January against the Heat, Butler suffered a right knee injury. In early February, Butler underwent successful ACL reconstruction surgery in Southern California. Butler is now over five months out from his surgery and has recently “turned a corner” in his rehab, according to Anthony Slater of ESPN.
