Former 49ers 1st-round pick reportedly traded to Titans

An ex-San Francisco 49ers first-rounder is rejoining his former coach with the Tennessee Titans. The Dallas Cowboys reportedly traded defensive lineman Solomon Thomas to the Titans, who are now led by former 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.

Thomas, 30, last played for the 49ers in 2020 after San Francisco drafted him No. 3 overall in 2027. He played 48 games in four years for the 49ers, where Thomas compiled 95 combined tackles and six total sacks. Thomas went on to played for the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets and Cowboys before heading to the Titans.

He has 239 combined tackles and 18.5 sacks in his career.

This will be a tremendous homecoming of sorts for Thomas, who has played almost his entire career with Saleh. He was with Saleh on the 49ers from 2017 to 2020, then with the Jets when Saleh was hired there from 2022 to 2024. Now, he’ll be back with Saleh in Tennessee, alongside some of his old Jets teammates as well.
