Eric Musselman will have his most talented USC team yet in 2026-2027

This offseason has been a massive success for USC men’s basketball. The Trojans retained several of their top players from last year’s team. They picked up several key additions in the transfer portal. And they landed the No. 3 high school recruiting class in the country.

USC’s first two years under head coach Eric Musselman were extremely disappointing, with the Trojans not even coming particularly close to the NCAA Tournament in either one. However, next season should be by far the most talented team that USC has had during his tenure thus far.

The Trojans will have proven veteran production in Rodney Rice, KJ Lewis, and Jacob Cofie, and Jalen Cox. They will also have talented rising sophomores Alijah Arenas and Eric Reibe, as well as highly-touted freshmen Christian Collins, Adonis Ratliff, and Darius Ratliff.

With that type of talent and depth, expectations for USC should be quite high entering the 2026-2027 season. As Musselman enters his third season on campus, this is a golden opportunity for him to break through and achieve the level of success that was expected when the Trojans hired him away from Arkansas two years ago.
