HOT PICK
Kings of Chaos at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa
Rock: Why should you consider going to see Kings of Chaos on Saturday at Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa? The band is a supergroup featuring a rotating cast of legendary musicians such as Palm Springs resident and former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum, Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Black Sabbath), Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), Kevin Cronin (formerly of REO Speedwagon), Jack Blades (Night Ranger, Damn Yankees), Phil X (Triumph, Bon Jovi), and Steve Stevens (Billy Idol).
Kings of Chaos was formed in 2012 and has consistently showcased a setlist comprised of songs from its members’ respective bands. Even though there haven’t been any releases of original material, the band has embarked on international tours and performed at festivals with rotating lineups. Also, each show features a different selection of songs.
If you go: 8 p.m. Saturday, Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa, 32-250 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage. Tickets $84.95 to $149.95. aguacalientecasinos.com

Enjoy an evening of modern darkwave, post-punk, coldwave, goth, cumbia, and more.

Los Straitjackets at Pappy and Harriet’s
Rock: The Nashville band Los Straitjackets blend the personas of masked Lucha Libre wrestlers with retro instrumental surf-rock. There’s a sense of mystery around the band because they’ve never performed without their masks, and frontman Eddie Angel has always spoken broken Spanish — if he speaks at all — while delivering stage banter. Still, a Los Straitjackets concert is always high energy and good fun.
See for yourself on Sunday when the band performs at Pappy and Harriet’s.
If you go: 9 p.m. Sunday, Pappy and Harriet’s, 53-688 Pioneertown Road, Pioneertown. Tickets $32.90. pappyandharriets.com
