A number of Coachella Valley restaurants failed their Riverside County health inspections this week, according to reports.
Among the facilities that scored “B” grades were a restaurant inside the Miramonte Resort in Indian Wells, K & A Market Carniceria & Taqueria in Indio and Backstreet Bistro, Casa Mendoza Grill & Bar and Sherman’s Deli and Bakery in Palm Desert. These eateries had a number of violations, including improper hot and cold food holding temperatures, handwashing issues and improper food separation. All these sites will be revisited and reinspected in the coming days.
Additionally, inspectors visited a banquet kitchen at the Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage due to a complaint investigation. Inspectors observed issues with chlorine dispersion in a dishwasher, employees not wearing hair restraints and other violations. No score was given during the visit, but a reinspection was set for next week.
