Local police made 106 arrests during Weekend 2 of the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. That’s a roughly 9% increase from Weekend 1 this year, though the number of arrests was down about 17% compared to Weekend 2 in 2025.
Drug possession accounted for 52 of the Weekend 2 arrests, while 13 were for using a false ID and eight for public intoxication, according to statistics from the Indio Police Department reported on Tuesday, April 21.
Another 33 arrests were grouped into an “other” category, which included domestic violence, trespassing, driving under the influence and battery.
In addition, police issued 85 citations for the unlawful use of disabled person placards — a considerable jump from the 32 citations issued for the same reason during Weekend 1.
During Weekend 2, the festival’s day parking lots reached maximum capacity by the late afternoon on Saturday and Sunday, so incoming concertgoers were redirected to the Indian Wells Tennis Garden for parking, according to Indio police spokesperson Sgt. Abe Plata.
The large gatherings at the Empire Polo Club continue later this week with the Stagecoach country music festival. The three-day festival kicks off Friday, April 24.
When does Coachella lineup come out 2027?
Now that the festival is over, many fans are googling when the next lineup will come out.
The answer to that is no time soon (lately the lineup has been dropping between September and November), so festivalgoers can take a beat, but if they’re willing to purchase advance tickets without knowing who will be on the lineup, Advance Sale passes for both Weekend 1 (April 9-11, 2027) and Weekend 2 (April 16-18, 2027) go on sale at 11 a.m. PDT Friday, May 1.
