The FSU Seminoles have made four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole one of their main priorities in the 2027 cycle. As things currently sit, they’re battling the Tennessee Volunteers for the top spot in his recruitment, as he named them one of his top schools a few weeks ago.
Things have reached a fevered pitch, according to Chad Simmons of Rivals. He recently mentioned that Florida State is making major waves with Poole to the point that they could be the undisputed top school soon.
“Tennessee leads for safety Ta’shawn Poole, with Florida State quietly gaining traction.”
Poole is the No. 71 overall recruit and the No. 4 safety in the country per the Rivals industry rankings. The 6-foot-2, 185-pounder is the No. 6 prospect in the state of Georgia as well.
FSU has done an excellent job landing secondary talent in the 2027 class as four-star safety Mekhi Williams, three-star safety Jemari Foreman, and three-star cornerback Dayon Cooper have pledged. Snagging Poole was bolster this haul significantly.
Poole has an official visit locked in with Florida State on June 19, which is two weeks after his official visit to Tennessee.
