A driver and bicyclist collided into each other in Cathedral City on Monday, Feb. 9, according to the Cathedral City Police Department. Only the bicyclist was injured.
An 18-year-old was riding his bike west on Dinah Shore Drive when a senior driver hit him while trying to turn from Eagle Canyon Drive to the eastbound lane on Dinah Shore Drive, CCPD Commander Jon Enos said. The Cathedral City Fire Department’s emergency medical service took the teenager, who had minor injuries, to the hospital.

Enos said both the bicyclist and driver are responsible for the crash. A police officer will investigate and make the final determination, he added.
High school students across the Coachella Valley participated in a walk-out on Monday, Feb. 9 to protest ICE, including in Cathedral City. Enos said he was told the traffic collision was not related to the protest.
